Last Christmas, I visited Madame Tussauds as an adult (I was more fascinated by this attraction as a kid). Madame Tussauds is a wax museum with figures of artists, famous personalities and country leaders. Recently, I was scrolling through my photo library and came across these pictures I took back then. I thought of how inspirational and successful these people have been in their chosen fields and have decided to share a few quotes from these stars. I hope you become as inspired as I am by these quotes.
“The only failure is not to try.”- George Clooney
George Clooney is an American actor, film maker and philanthropist. You’ve probably seen him in any of the Ocean’s 11, 12 or 13 movies. Woohoo! Ocean’s 8 is expected to come out next year.
“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”- Martin Luther King
“It always seems impossible until it’s done”.- Nelson Mandela
I probably learnt about Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King at about the same time. I still remember reading about these historic leaders and being inspired to dream big and never give up. Isn’t it interesting that they are both placed side by side?
“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible.”– Audrey Hepburn
Audrey Hepburn was a British actress, model, humanitarian and fashion icon. This wax figure is from a scene from the movie, Breakfast At Tiffany’s.
“Nothing in Life that’s worth anything is easy.”– Barrack Obama
Ha, this looks nothing like Obama. Or, maybe it was sculpted 9 years ago, when Obama newly became the president of the United States.
“Normal is nothing more than a cycle on a washing machine.”– Whoopi Goldberg
Caryn Elaine Johnson (Whoopi Goldberg) is an American actress, talk host and comedian popular for her role in Sister Act and Star Trek: The Next Generation.
“I want to leave my footprints on the sands of time. Know there was something that, something that I left behind. When I leave this world, I’ll leave no regrets. Leave something to remember, so they won’t forget I was here, I lived, I loved, I was here.”– Beyonce
Beyonce is an American musician and philanthropist. Some of her famous songs include, Single Ladies, Halo and Drunk In Love.
“Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value.”– Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein was a 20th century German scientist that came up with the theory of relativity and the famous equation E = mc2. (E= kinetic energy, M= mass, C= speed of light). He is also referred to as the father of modern Physics.
“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success”.- Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso is a Spanish painter and sculptor who spent his adult life in France (was I the only one who thought he was French?) Click here, for some of his famous artworks. Apparently, his Nude, Green Leaves and Bust painting was sold for $106.5 million in 2010.
“Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are.”– Marilyn Monroe
Norma Jeane Mortenson (Marilyn Monroe) was an American Actress and Model.
Isn’t it interesting how life events play out? Who would have thought a visit to Madame Tussauds would inspire me (and you, the reader) about life, success and being yourself.
On another note, I hope you enjoyed this post and are inspired in some way. Please feel free to like, share and comment.
