Fall 2018 LookBook – Networking

Hey guys,

I will be sharing my favourite looks this fall and some prose I wrote.
PS: This entire look book was created from pieces I already had in my closet (I challenged myself to not buy anything new until this project was completed). Enjoy!

you walk into a room full of people
with a product to sell
and a network to build
the product is you
refined; distinctive; flawless
still as authentic as possible
you ask the right questions
with confidence and modesty
the task is to leave them with an outstanding impression of you

beneath your only blazer is an ocean of sweat
mainly from the tension you feel
partly because the room is actually hot
this is not a time to be buzzed
so you pace your one glass over 30 minutes
there’s no time to enjoy the appetizers
although you have eaten a fair bit of them

your feet hurt from the heels you wear
you make a mental note to wear flats next time
but the truth is you feel more confident in heels
and will wear heels next time

well, you are getting better at these events
and you comfort yourself that this ends after recruit
only to find out this is an integral part of the path you have chosen
